I live in suburban Seattle. First the multiple-location YMCA dropped Silver Sneakers.

Then my local health club did, too. The issue: Silver Sneakers pays facilities by the member visit, and isn't paying enough to retain facilities. And it won't budge. Silver Sneakers response is to direct members to other facilities via its website.

That's where I discovered that the 24-Hour Fitness that Silver Sneakers touted as offering its program in fact doesn't.

Bottom line, Silver Sneakers is much less than it's advertised to be, and worthless to me.

Meanwhile the CEO of its parent company makes $2mil annually. Bummer!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $700.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Location: Seattle, Washington

Our fitness center is restricting Silver Sneaker access to Fri, Sat, Sun. If we wish full access we must pay $32/mo and an annual fee of $29.99 enhancement fee to maintain the facility.

Sounds like double dipping to me. Isn't that fraud?
